What’s so special about bamboo?
Bamboo is the most eco-friendly sock material on the market today!
The EUREKA SOCKS team is committed to bringing you top-quality bamboo socks that prioritise your children’s comfort and health. According to scientific research, bamboo has unique qualities that are described below:
Bamboo is a renewable resource
Because it grows so quickly, bamboo is an easily renewable resource. It can also withstand water shortages, requiring two thirds less water than cotton to grow.
Bamboo grows naturally without pesticides or herbicides
Unlike cotton, bamboo grows naturally with very little ‘help’ – it needs little to no pesticides or herbicides. That’s why it’s easy to keep bamboo plantations organic and replant them every year.
Bamboo fibre is cashmere-soft
Bamboo fibre is naturally round and smooth; there are no sharp spurs to irritate your skin. People with allergies, who don’t do well with other natural fibres such as hemp or wool, enjoy bamboo socks.
Bamboo fabric stands up to multiple washes
Don’t worry about EUREKA SOCKS socks tearing after a few stints in the washing machine. They are naturally hardwearing and will get even softer the more you wash them.
Bamboo fibre has antibacterial qualities
Due to an antimicrobial bio-agent called “bamboo kun” which is found naturally in the fibre, bamboo fabric (unlike cotton) is antibacterial, antifungal and odour resistant.
Bamboo has excellent wicking properties
Bamboo is highly water absorbent – it can take in up to three times its weight in water. The textile retains most of this ability, pulling moisture away from the skin so that it can evaporate. Bamboo fabric also has excellent insulating properties, helping you stay warm in winter and cool in summer.
Bamboo socks use less dye than cotton
Bamboo fabric is light and strong, and it requires less dye than cotton. This means we can make the colours bright and vivid, and keep the manufacturing process eco-friendly.
Bamboo fabric is completely biodegradable
When you are done with your EUREKA SOCKS socks, don’t worry, they are completely biodegradable. The decomposition process (in soil) doesn’t cause any pollution to the environment!
